The second Forum of cross-border cooperation between the municipalities of Foča and Plužine organized

5On November 3, 2021, the second Forum of Cross-Border Cooperation was organized in the premises of the Center for Culture and Information in Foča within the project “Tourism, Adrenaline and Rafting Adventure (T.A.R.A.)” funded by the European Union.

The forum was attended by the Mayor of the Municipality of Foča Milan Vukadinovic, the Mayor of the Municipality of Plužine Mijusko Bajagic, the deputy mayor of Foča Vesna Rasevic, the director of the Nature Park “Piva” Slobodan Delic, project team members, rafter representatives, tourism service providers and the Tourist Organization of Foča.

At the meeting, the realized activities and achieved results of the project were discussed, as well as the future cooperation between these two municipalities. In particular, the focus was on the increasing the safety of tourists in the cross-border area. The purchase of a satellite phone for communication needs on Trnovačko Lake, arrangement of the exit to the top of Maglić, installation of water meters on the Tara River, and arrangement of safety exits in the Tara River canyon on both sides of the river, where boats capsize frequently, have been announced.

The cross-border cooperation project “Tourism, Adrenaline and Rafting Adventure (T.A.R.A.”) is implemented by the Municipality of Plužine and the Municipality of Foča in cooperation with the Nature Park Piva and the Tourist Organization of Foča, and funded by the European Union in BiH within the Cross-border Cooperation Programe BiH-MNE. The aim of the project is the development and promotion of the cross-border area of ​​these two municipalities, as unique tourist destination for active tourism.
